Christinia is the daughter of Grace M. Valandra, a Sicangu, Lakota from the Rosebud Reservation; her father Chris Eala, came from the village of San Esteban, Ilocos Sur in the Philippine Islands. She loves her heritage but more closely identifies with her Native American heritage because of her proximity to her mother's people, and also because she walks a traditional Lakota Spiritual Path called the Good Red Road. At 61 she is considered to be a young elder among the Lakota. She is the mother of five beautiful children and has ten equally beautiful grandchildren.
Christinia finally received a Bachelors of Science degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado after her youngest son left home. She was 54 when she started thinking about what she was going to do with the second half of her life.
It is this latest project that has gifted her with the knowing that helping the Lakota live a more sustainable lifestyle is where her energy belongs.
